X-rated Valentine's Day clay pot rice at CHOP CHOP
At modern siu mei restaurant Chop Chop, traditional clay pot rice takes on an X-rated spin this Valentine's Day with toppings of abalone and Chinese sausage for its exclusive V day special, Abalone Preserved Sausage Clay Pot Rice (HK$198). You can sub out Chinese sausage with Western sausage, if that's more your type. The other V day special is Show Me Your Love Clay Pot Rice (HK$128) - a play on the Canto pronunciation of sweetcorn and pork, which are the main ingredients of this dish. All the fun and jokes aside, Chop Chop does a serious clay pot rice. I tried it before via home delivery, and the flavors and textures were all on point, including the crunchy burnt rice on the sides. The V day clay pot rice dishes will be available between 1st February - 15th February 2021.

If you're already a fan of Simon Rogan and his restaurants Aulis and 1-starred Roganic, you're going to love his take-home dining experience packaged within eco-friendly and biodegradable materials. Priced at HK$1,800 per couple, the Valentine's Day menu includes soda bread with whipped brown butter, celeriac soup with parsley oil and cheese sauce, lobster pot topped with Simon Rogan's signature caviar, uni custard with pike perch roe, beef fillet with mushroom duxelles, horseradish creamed potato, crispy kale and caper jus, apple tart with blackberry and toffee sauce, and chocolate truffles. Note that this a highly limited set, with 50 sets available for pick-up (no delivery).
