Restaurant Petrus at the Island Shangri-La: Gorgeous seasonal fare by chef Ricardo Chaneton
After a veritable shit storm of a week (and overall 2018 so far), I finally experienced something that made me hopeful for the new year. Not surprisingly, it revolved around food! Restaurant Petrus is located on the 56th floor of the Island Shangri-La, and we had a table right by the window overlooking the beautiful city. For dinner, Chef Ricardo Chaneton prepared a special seasonal menu for the four us, which took us through a gastronomic journey through comforting winter in

[Bangkok] Restaurant Sühring, an Out-of-this-World Experience of Modern German Cuisine
The last time I was here, I was solo tripping to Bangkok for a weekend and sat at the counter facing the kitchen. The Sühring brothers took such good care of me over the 12-course meal, that it was the most memorable dinner I'd ever had outside of Hong Kong (aside from the mind-blowing experience at Gaggan the night prior... yeah that weekend was just, insane). Rose & Angel, my two foodie travel companions, know all too well my love for this place, as I'd been raving about it

2 Michelin Star Caprice at the Four Seasons Hong Kong with New Chef Guillaume Galliot
With 3 Michelin-starred restaurant Lung King Heen on the 4/F (the first Chinese restaurant to receive 3 stars) and 2 Michelin contemporary French concept Caprice on the 6/F, I think it's fair to say that the Four Seasons is one of the finest gourmet destinations in Hong Kong. The other night, we were introduced to the vibrant new summer menu at Caprice by Chef de Cuisine Guillaume Galliot, who only recently took up the helm in April. After seven wine-paired courses specially

Comfort Food with a Side of Nostalgia at the New & Improved Dan Ryan's in Cityplaza, Tai Koo
I'll admit I was pretty crushed to hear that my favourite childhood hangout - the late Dan Ryan's in Pacific Place - had closed. Thankfully, the Chicago grill-inspired American diner is a chain with a few other outlets dotted around Hong Kong, the latest of which opened in Cityplaza shopping mall in Tai Koo. I noticed a few changes in the overall look and feel of the restaurant including brighter lighting, more art pieces and a more refined decor (people in suits were sipping

Dragon-I: Not Just a Clubbing Venue!
Night life at Dragon-I takes on new meaning with the introduction of the Dinner Tasting Menu by Executive Chef Ryan Chui - and an amazing deal at that, too. At the price of only HK$688 + 10% for 6 sharing plates enough for 4 people and HK$1032 +10% for 9 plates per 6 people, these new tasting menus are a serious steal. I honestly never thought I'd be eating a tasty meal and enjoying a civilised conversation on the same sofa that once sagged under my dancing weight as I chugg

All-You-Can-Eat Paella & Suckling Pig at La Paloma's Weekend Brunch Festival
There are fewer joys in life than a table full of Spanish tapas, gigantic pans of Paella Valenciana cooked tableside, and whole suckling pigs crisped to perfection in a charcoal-sealed el Asador oven. This is a brunch I dreamed about for days afterwards, and the best part? When it comes to unrivalled brunch deals in the city, this one takes the cake - at only HK$250 per person, you can enjoy tapas served to your table, all-you-can-eat paella AND suckling pig, and homemade chu

[PERMANENTLY CLOSED] New Chef, New Menu: French-Caribbean Delights at Paradis Restaurant & Cockt
Tucked away on the third floor of a nondescript building on Wyndham Street, you wouldn't have guessed that such a vibrant little French-Caribbean eatery even existed there. It's across from the entrance to Tasmanian Ballroom (right in the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong's nightlife district), which is why Paradis is better known for its Caribbean-inspired cocktails. Now with newly appointed Executive Chef Wes Long helming the kitchen, the restaurant is bringing focus to its re
