AULIS: Simon Rogan's chef's table & development kitchen concept comes to Hong Kong
Last week, I was one of the few lucky guests to experience AULIS Hong Kong's first service in their slick new 12-seater chef's table located within what used to be Dining at Murasaki in Causeway Bay. This is celebrated chef Simon Rogan's first overseas branch of his development kitchen concept, and many were initially a little dubious about the idea of duplicating such a concept from the lush and nature-abounding Lake District to the bustling city of Hong Kong. These concerns

Blue Supreme: Hong Kong's best bar food?
Making its debut in a quiet Sheung Wan neighbourhood just off of Hollywood Road, Blue Supreme is a cool little concept revolving around imported craft beers and elevated bar fare. It's easy to find, and was already buzzing with happy hour-goers when we arrived at 7pm on a Friday evening. The kitchen is helmed by Executive Chef Leonard Cheung, whose previous tenures include Twenty Six by Liberty, as well as 3* Bo Innovation, and 3* 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo. Also, coincidentally, we

Restaurant Petrus at the Island Shangri-La: Gorgeous seasonal fare by chef Ricardo Chaneton
After a veritable shit storm of a week (and overall 2018 so far), I finally experienced something that made me hopeful for the new year. Not surprisingly, it revolved around food! Restaurant Petrus is located on the 56th floor of the Island Shangri-La, and we had a table right by the window overlooking the beautiful city. For dinner, Chef Ricardo Chaneton prepared a special seasonal menu for the four us, which took us through a gastronomic journey through comforting winter in

JUISEE by I See I See Introduces Tea & Tonic Juice Concept to Hong Kong
The masterminds behind Hong Kong's favourite handcrafted ice pops, @iseeiseehk, are back! This time, they're introducing a brand new concept that centers around juice, and it's already becoming my new go-to thirst quencher when I'm hanging around CWB (which is a lot recently!). Located just off the beaten path in Causeway Bay's Matheson Street (1 min walk from Times Square), Juisee by I See I See is Hong Kong's very first Tea + Premium Fever Tree Tonic Water concept, which ap

[Hong Kong] Rech by Alain Ducasse at InterContinental Hong Kong
As the first international outpost of celebrated chef & restaurateur Alain Ducasse’s lauded seafood restaurant in Paris, the new location of Rech at the InterContinental Hong Kong had some seriously hefty shoes to fill when it opened recently. Replacing Ducasse’s previous fine dining concept of 10 years, SPOON, the new seafood centred restaurant channels the clean, bright and picturesque vibe of Europe's coastal towns. With top-quality French seafood as the highlight, Rech de

The Ultimate Dom Pérignon Sunday Brunch Launches at Ozone Hong Kong: Free-Flow Dom Pérignon Paired w
Epic doesn't even begin to cover this heavenly new boozy brunch that just launched on the 118th floor of The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong. They had me at free-flow Dom Pérignon Vintage 2006 and unlimited carvings of the world's best Iberico ham - but wait, there's more. Dragon-I: Not Just a Clubbing Venue!
Night life at Dragon-I takes on new meaning with the introduction of the Dinner Tasting Menu by Executive Chef Ryan Chui - and an amazing deal at that, too. At the price of only HK$688 + 10% for 6 sharing plates enough for 4 people and HK$1032 +10% for 9 plates per 6 people, these new tasting menus are a serious steal. I honestly never thought I'd be eating a tasty meal and enjoying a civilised conversation on the same sofa that once sagged under my dancing weight as I chugg

Piri Piri Chicken Fix at Flaming Frango
Flaming Frango used to be my go-to hangover meal on lazy Sundays watching films, as I was especially fond of their indulgently buttery mashed potato, Frango rice and the signature chicken (pls try this after a night out, guys). They were my guilty pleasures, and nothing could get in the way of a piri piri craving. I hadn't ventured in to the actual restaurant before until now, and I kinda wish I'd come in earlier to try their food fresh, because it was definitely a great expe

[PERMANENTLY CLOSED] My Tai Tai, a delicious few hours in Isaan, Thailand
There is only one cuisine that I crave on a regular basis, and that is Thai food. There's something so addictive about the distinctive ingredients used in traditional Thai dishes, from the fragrant Thai basil to the kaffir lime and lemongrass. And not to sound picky or anything, but Thai curry is the only curry I enjoy. Maybe my craving is so strong because there are so few quality Thai restaurants in Hong Kong, as for example, I was sorely disappointed by the raved-about Sam

Artisanal Coffee & Health Food Bar at The Elephas
Founded by Ricky Cheuk, former professional rugby player and the man behind Warrior Academy, The Elephas is a brand new space featuring health food and artisanal coffee right alongside fitness training facilities. As soon as you step through the doors, you're swept into a totally different world - one of happy, grazing elephants and #fitfam. Yeah, it's hard to explain. Personally, I get pretty stressed around gyms in general (let alone eating next to one amidst bellowing inst

Hidden Japanese Gem URA
As hidden culinary gems go, none catches my attention more than when it claims to boast fresh, seasonal ingredients from Osaka AND a mysterious Japanese beer garden. Might I also mention the all-you-can-drink happy hour for only HK$160 from 5:30pm-7:30pm? I'd never heard of Ura prior to this, despite it being sandwiched between two well-known restaurants (VEA & Momotaro) in The Wellington, and I was excited to give it a try. The Chang brothers, also behind Indonesian restaur

Sky-high Boozy Brunch at Seafood Room
Brunch is as lavish an affair as you'd expect at Seafood Room, the newest dining sensation to hit Causeway Bay. The restaurant is located high above the bustling streets of CWB on the 26th floor of Tower 535, and boasts gorgeous sweeping views of the city. A drink on the terrace and rooftop lounge is a must on any visit here! Even inside, the dining room features floor-to-ceiling windows so you can pretty much expect a grand view anywhere you sit.
