[Hong Kong] 5 Must-Visit Bars for Cocktail Lovers
Most of my friends know I'm not typically a cocktail person, but for the nights I'd like my alcohol *not* downed from a shot glass (only semi-joking), I've compiled a list of my top 5 favourite go-to's in the city. Some new, some old, but all equally solid options for a fun boozy evening out in Hong Kong. 1. Wahtiki Cocktail Lounge Go for... Pretty, fruity and hella potent Tiki cocktails made with age-old recipes. I loved the chilled out atmosphere that made it easy to conver

STUDIO HK Launches Tasty New Bar Bites Menu
Last night, I checked out Studio HK (go up the same escalator that leads to Play, and enter through a different door), which, in slight contrast to its famous sister clubbing venue Play, brands itself as more of a live music bar rather than an all-out party venue. It's small yet polished, and exudes a classy and intimate vibe. We started off the night with some of Studio's signature mocktails, including the Gran Paradiso (charred pineapple, mango) and Sriracha Mary, the latte

Mercato Hong Kong Hosts Round 2 of "The Great Pizza Bake Off": Lily & Bloom's Chef
If you haven't heard already, Mercato by Jean-Georges is hosting 5 rounds of "THE GREAT PIZZA BAKE OFF", a newly launched campaign that opens up a world of creative and daring interpretations on pizzas. Since the bake-off is taking place at Mercato, you'll be glad to know the pizza base will always be in the famous Jean-Georges wood-fired style, meaning the only place you could really go wrong is with the topping. The best part about this campaign is that it pits chefs agains

Veuve Clicquot's #YellowHour Kicks Off Quarter 2 of its New Happy Hour Series with the Theme of
Veuve Clicquot is always surprising us with new ways to revolutionise the timeless art of champagne-drinking, and their new Happy Hour taking the city by storm is no exception. Playfully dubbed “Yellow Hour”, this new happy hour is available at a ton of restaurants around Hong Kong and has entered its second quarter today. While the first quarter was all about pairing champagne with popcorn, now it’s all about the fries (yas). I was able to preview French Fry dishes paired wi

Beef & Liberty Launches Soft Shell Crab Sandwich from 16 May - 10 July & Best New Wine Progr
My favourite burger restaurant is at it again! This time, they've rolled out some bomb new promotions that are perfect for alleviating much of the misery that comes with Hong Kong's brutal summers. And yes, I'm aware it's currently officially spring but HK tends to skip the fun seasons and goes straight to the nasty. So 3 new things going on at B&L at the moment: 1. Soft Shell Crab Sandwich HK$118 (officially launches on MAY 16-JULY10) 2. New Seasonal Salads -Green Peas Salad

Dragon-I: Not Just a Clubbing Venue!
Night life at Dragon-I takes on new meaning with the introduction of the Dinner Tasting Menu by Executive Chef Ryan Chui - and an amazing deal at that, too. At the price of only HK$688 + 10% for 6 sharing plates enough for 4 people and HK$1032 +10% for 9 plates per 6 people, these new tasting menus are a serious steal. I honestly never thought I'd be eating a tasty meal and enjoying a civilised conversation on the same sofa that once sagged under my dancing weight as I chugg

Fuss-free Natural Lash Extensions at L for Lashes
Having finally recovered from the horrors of my first lash extension experience almost 6 years prior in Japan, I thought - okay, the beauty industry has had over half a decade to improve on this particular technology, so why not give it another go? I did some serious research on the top salons in Hong Kong to get temporary eyelash extensions done, and I happened to land upon L for Lashes. And I'm so glad I did. Here's the short version of it all: smooth consulting session, me

Gourmet Burgers, Elevated Cocktails and Bar Bites at the New Beef & Liberty California Tower
Where do I even begin with Beef & Liberty California Tower? The vibes, the burgers, and most significant of all - the appointment of new B&L Group Executive Chef Uwe Opocensky, previously Executive Chef of Michelin-starred Mandarin Grill and The Krug Room at Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong. With a swanky new bar addition to this B&L, there's really no better person to lead it than Pawel Mikusek, who brings with him another impressive resume as the previous Head of Cocktails & Sp

American Diner-Inspired Brunch at Lily & Bloom
Located in the vibrant heart of Lan Kwai Fong, partygoers and post-work drinkers fawn over Lily & Bloom's Prohibition Happy Hour - doubtless the perfect way to kick off a weekend night of debauchery. While we can't get enough of the delicious cocktails and trendy bar scene at LB, there's a lot more to this space than the nightlife. Just one floor below the bar on the fifth floor is a kitchen & dining room that do some of the best American food in town - and weekend brunch is

Traditional Cantonese cuisine meets modern gastronomy in this delectable 9-course tasting menu (priced at an affordable HK$680/person) by Lai Bun Fu's Executive Chef Kin-Leung Chung. Previously Head Chef of the Chinese kitchen in Hong Kong's Government House, Chef Chung has personally cooked for the likes of Xi Jinping, Dmitry Medvedev, George Bush and Margaret Thatcher, among other notable world leaders.
